About The Role

The Senior Vice President of Retail Banking is tasked with providing high-level leadership and strategic oversight for the retail and operational sectors of the bank. This role is pivotal in formulating and executing a comprehensive deposit strategy aimed at achieving growth objectives in retail lending, deposit accumulation, and cost management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct management and supervision of Retail Lending, Branch Services, and Operations including Centralized Operations, Wire Processing, E-Banking, BSA, and Call Center.
  • Foster a collaborative environment while implementing strategic sales and deposit growth initiatives aligned with operational standards, periodically evaluating performance against the bank's strategic objectives.
  • Engage with Senior Management in the formulation of long-term planning and strategic goals for the bank, directing immediate and long-range planning based on ongoing performance assessments.
  • Provide leadership in establishing overarching objectives, policies, and plans for the designated market, and review related policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Bank President/CEO and Senior Management team to review overall operations and provide insights on policy matters, business development, staffing needs, and administrative issues.
  • Lead the resolution of escalated customer complaints to mitigate reputational, compliance, and financial risks to the bank, involving legal counsel as necessary.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of banking operations systems, regulations, and best practices.
  • Oversee project management for new product delivery, including implementation, testing, rollout, and post-launch support.
  • Identify and execute long-term strategies related to retail lending portfolio mix, product offerings, growth strategies, and market penetration in community banking.
  • Manage loan and deposit pricing in consultation with the Bank President/CEO, contributing to product development and pricing strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations governing community banking and retail operations.
  • Develop and implement business development metrics for community banking products and services.
  • Recruit, manage, and develop the retail banking and operations teams, ensuring appropriate training and development for staff.
  • Work with team members to establish individual goals aligned with organizational objectives, staying informed on competitive dynamics and innovative marketing strategies.
  • Enhance community bank operations through the adoption of technology and business development initiatives.
  • Manage direct reports to optimize productivity and efficiency, including hiring, performance monitoring, coaching, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a representative of the bank, fostering relationships with businesses, community organizations, and governmental agencies.
  • Lead the team through change with a positive attitude, supporting departmental and organizational initiatives while effectively resolving issues.

About You

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a banking environment.
  • Proven leadership experience, preferably in a banking context.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Current valid driver's license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of banking regulations and policies to support safety and compliance goals.
  • Ability to collaborate with vendors to achieve business objectives.
  • Familiarity with core banking systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and adept at learning new systems.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service and teamwork.
  • Professional demeanor and ethical behavior in all interactions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage quality effectively.

Work Environment:

Must be able to perform work indoors in a shared office environment with moderate noise levels and be capable of up to 10% travel as required.

Physical Demands:

This role may require sitting for extended periods, using hands for repetitive tasks, and occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
