POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled professional for the position of Technology Coordinator. Reporting directly to the Salesforce, Systems and IT Manager, the Technology Coordinator will oversee the management and upkeep of our IT systems across multiple locations. This role is crucial in ensuring the effectiveness of our IT infrastructure, implementing appropriate technological solutions, and conducting research and development to keep our systems current.

The primary objective of IT management is to create value through technology. The Technology Coordinator will assist in formulating IT strategic plans, supervise network and user security, manage data backups, and oversee online applications. Furthermore, this role may involve planning and coordinating larger projects, such as hardware and software installations and upgrades. Troubleshooting issues and provisioning new equipment will also be part of the responsibilities.

Given the collaborative nature of this position, strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. The ability to work effectively with colleagues and build consensus is vital for success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Systems and Technology Solutions (25%):
    • Ensure the organization operates effectively by providing the necessary technology to support strategic initiatives.
    • Assess the performance of IT systems to evaluate cost and productivity, making recommendations for enhancements.
    • Work with various teams to enhance technical capabilities and ownership of business processes.
    • Propose IT strategies, policies, and procedures based on organizational outcomes and anticipated needs.
    • Prepare cost-benefit analyses for necessary upgrades and evaluate vendors for optimal service and value.
    • Maintain technology policies and procedures, creating training materials and presentations as needed.
    • Provide training on software and hardware, troubleshoot issues, and offer technical support.
    • Lead and inspire staff to utilize technology effectively.
    • Facilitate the cross-team Technology Steering Committee by setting agendas and implementing decisions.
  • Systems and Technology Maintenance (40%):
    • Assess current technology usage and organizational needs, recommending software and hardware improvements.
    • Manage operational budgets and expenditures.
    • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, escalating to vendors when necessary.
    • Collaborate with users and vendors to understand computing and system requirements.
    • Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, and hardware.
  • Systems and Data Security (15%):
    • Protect assets by implementing disaster recovery, backup procedures, and information security measures.
    • Develop business continuity protocols to minimize operational disruptions during emergencies.
    • Oversee Microsoft 365 support and incident response.
    • Lead compliance initiatives and maintain training materials.
    • Manage the existing cybersecurity awareness program.
    • Lead the Security Incident Response Team, preparing agendas and maintaining documentation.
  • Other Responsibilities (10%):
    • Act as a liaison between staff and IT vendors.
    • Procure and provision new or donated equipment.
    • Identify and prepare hardware for donation or disposal, ensuring proper security measures.
    • Maintain the IT asset inventory.

TEAMWORK:
As a vital member of the Operations Team, contribute to our organizational health through collaboration, leadership, and integrity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, and Teams.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills.
    • Knowledge of IT security fundamentals.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Attention to detail and superb organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Commitment to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
    • Understanding of Habitat for Humanity's mission and values.
  • Education and Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
    • Experience in the nonprofit sector is preferred.
    • A bachelor's degree in computer science is advantageous.
