Job Overview:

We are seeking a Stormwater Engineering Specialist at Apex Companies, LLC. This position is designed for candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline.

General Duties:

In this role, you will take on increasing responsibilities in the technical aspects of projects, handling a range of tasks with varying complexity.

Your responsibilities will include supporting a Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer with client interactions, budget management, project coordination, reviews, and technical proposals.


Specific Responsibilities:

- Prepare technical documents, reports, calculations, and designs for projects of varying complexity under the guidance of senior staff.
- Assist the Project Manager in adhering to project schedules and budgets by actively monitoring progress and identifying additional work outside the agreed scope.
- Collaborate with subconsultants as directed by senior team members.
- Potentially serve as Lead Designer on simpler projects to ensure a cohesive and coordinated outcome by effectively communicating with the project team.
- Review calculations and design concepts to ensure quality control.
- Contribute technical insights into proposals by developing project scopes, budgets, and timelines based on historical data and experience.
- Participate in client meetings and technical presentations.

- Conduct fieldwork including surveying, data collection, inspections, and sampling.
- Assist with construction administration by managing submittals, preparing meeting agendas, and tracking construction schedules.

- Maintain positive relationships with clients through regular communication as directed by the Project Manager.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers and interns.

- Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and other relevant technical software.

- Develop effective writing and presentation skills to support technical decisions.


Qualifications:

- Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and typically 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree with 3 years of experience.
- Registrations: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status, actively pursuing Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in applicable states.


Interpersonal Skills:

- Strong communication skills for effective interaction within project teams and with clients.
- Ability to guide less experienced staff and demonstrate effective written and verbal communication.
