In this pivotal position, the selected individual will oversee a team of Electrical and Software Engineers, ensuring that all team efforts are effectively managed, reported, and delivered according to established objectives.

The Electrical Engineering Manager will take charge of orchestrating the team's activities, providing guidance to guarantee that project outcomes meet quality standards and are completed within set timelines. Responsibilities will include assisting with technology and project strategy, team recruitment and development, resource allocation for design tasks, and the implementation of engineering methodologies and policies. This role will also involve contributing technically by delivering both digital and analog circuit designs for new product introductions (NPI) as well as for existing products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and enhance a team of electrical and embedded software engineers, ensuring the quality and timeliness of their assigned tasks.
  • Evaluate and refine engineering designs to ensure that quality standards are met and customer expectations are fulfilled.
  • Conduct project assessments and propose necessary actions to ensure project deliverables align with company standards and timelines.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to design engineering and project engineering team members on system design, drawing creation, and achieving project objectives using established standards and best practices.
  • Supervise the development and support of embedded software for both new and existing analytical products.
  • Design and implement PCBA and system testing fixtures, programs, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other teams within the organization to identify and resolve common challenges.
  • Align the Electrical & Software Engineering team with counterparts across various locations regarding engineering tools, drawing standards, and component selection.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in electrical engineering.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership experience, preferably within a cross-functional electrical and software team.
  • Experience in developing schematics and drawings for high-quality manufacturing and testing processes.
  • Familiarity with regulatory agencies and certification processes (UL, CSA, CE, ROHS, IEC).
  • Experience in implementing business systems and tools related to Quality Management Systems (QMS), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Continuous Improvement, and data analysis.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while providing innovative and detailed technical solutions to complex challenges.
  • Proven expertise in electrical and software/communications troubleshooting.
  • Capacity to build trust, maintain positive professional relationships, and foster a culture of inclusion.
  • Experience with high-sensitivity gas analysis or analytical laboratory equipment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Altium design software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of design for Hazardous Area IEC 60079 and General Environmental Testing such as IEC60068 or MIL-STD 810 is a plus.
  • Experience in writing LabVIEW programs is desirable.

Job Type: Full Time Permanent

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (Flexible start times)
