PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Senior Project Managers on initial design phases, including determining the specifications for mechanical and electrical spaces.
  • Convert conceptual designs into detailed development and construction documentation.
  • Mentor and guide Junior Designers and Senior Designers, ensuring quality and providing professional development.
  • Draft design specifications and engage in firm-wide initiatives such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Standards development.
  • Oversee trade coordination and manage intricate design assignments, particularly for mechanical and electrical layouts.
  • Participate in construction meetings, create observation reports, and perform site inspections.
  • Contribute to the firm's marketing and outreach strategies to improve visibility and establish thought leadership.
  • Utilize resources across various locations and time zones to achieve project objectives.
  • Serve as the lead agent on commissioning and construction management assignments.
  • Drive innovation and improve operational processes within the firm.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of 5 years of design experience in an MEP/Consulting environment.
  • At least 10 years of overall professional experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is mandatory.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is required; LEED and/or Professional Engineer (PE) certifications are preferred.
  • Expertise in design software and familiarity with CAD/BIM technologies.
  • Broad understanding of mechanical and electrical system design principles.
  • Able to collaborate effectively within a project team.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
