Location: This position covers the Greater Tampa Bay area.

Key Responsibilities:
The Business Loan Specialist will play a vital role in the development, expansion, and retention of our business loan and deposit portfolio. Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and recruiting potential clients to enhance this segment of our business.
  • Creating and executing competitive loan and deposit products.
  • Training financial center staff on all aspects of business lending.
  • Managing the origination, processing, presentation, closing, and tracking of business loan applications and completed loans.
  • Ensuring compliance with NCUA regulations and other applicable laws.

Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in commercial lending and business services, or one year of experience in commercial lending within a credit union.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in current software systems relevant to the role.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial lending laws and regulations governing Federal Credit Unions.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Capability to sit for extended periods.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and typing in English.
  • Able to hear and use a telephone.
  • Frequent use of a computer, requiring repetitive keystrokes.

Work Environment:

  • This is a hybrid role offering the flexibility to work remotely and at various locations.
  • Local travel to retail locations and member accounts is expected approximately 50% of the week.
