The Procurement Manager will be responsible for the strategic sourcing, purchasing, and oversight of materials, equipment, and services essential for large-scale construction and industrial projects. This position demands a strategic mindset, exceptional negotiation capabilities, and a comprehensive understanding of the construction and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will ensure that all procurement processes are efficient, timely, and adhere to industry standards and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute procurement strategies that align with project timelines, financial constraints, and organizational objectives.
  • Identify and assess potential suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers within the construction and industrial domains.
  • Evaluate market trends and conditions to proactively address supply chain challenges.
  • Establish and nurture robust relationships with key suppliers and vendors to guarantee a consistent and high-quality supply of materials and services.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations with suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure advantageous terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment conditions.
  • Address any disputes or issues with suppliers promptly and effectively.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
  • Manage contract renewals, modifications, and terminations in accordance with project requirements and company policies.
  • Ensure all procurement activities are documented and monitored to maintain transparency and accountability.
  • Oversee and control procurement expenditures to remain within budget while fulfilling project specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with finance and project management teams to forecast procurement costs and mitigate financial risks.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or project timelines.
  • Recognize potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to minimize disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all procurement activities.
  • Conduct risk assessments for critical suppliers and materials, particularly those affecting project delivery.
  • Lead and mentor a team of procurement specialists, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to perform effectively.
  • Promote a collaborative and results-driven work environment within the procurement team.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, including expenditure analysis, supplier performance, and market conditions.
  • Offer insights and recommendations to senior management based on procurement data and trends.
  • Utilize procurement software and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy in purchasing processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is advantageous.
  • At least 7 years of experience in procurement, with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial capacity within the construction or industrial sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in large-scale construction or industrial projects, with a solid understanding of the specific procurement requirements of these industries.
