Position Overview: The Healthcare Supply Chain Association is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative procurement specialist focused on thoracic organs. This role is essential for supporting a prestigious thoracic transplantation program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surgical procurement of hearts, lungs, and heart-lung blocks from deceased donors for transplantation.
  • Engage in the evaluation of organ quality, ensuring adherence to rigorous standards.
  • Facilitate communication regarding the logistics of organ offers and procurement processes.
  • Participate in research initiatives and the resuscitation of marginal organs.

Contract Details: This is a 12-month contracted position with potential for career advancement.

Compensation: Salary Range: $78,800 - $175,000

Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree or equivalent international qualification.
  • 3-5 years of experience in cardiac surgery as a primary or assistant surgeon.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team and foster collaboration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with transplant program personnel, OPO, and procurement teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage assignments with minimal oversight.
  • Willingness to seek assistance when necessary and incorporate feedback from senior surgeons.
  • Capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain productivity under pressure.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and workload fluctuations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, cardiac surgery, and relevant safety practices in an operating room setting.
  • Analytical skills to define problems, identify factors, and develop logical solutions.
