The Healthcare Supply Chain Association is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Procurement Recovery Surgeon specializing in thoracic organs. Our esteemed division is focused on individuals who can uphold the exceptional standards and demands of a prestigious thoracic transplantation program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surgical procurement of hearts, lungs, and heart-lung combinations from deceased donors for transplantation.
  • Utilize expertise in organ harvest, transplantation techniques, myocardial protection, and organ quality assessment.
  • Facilitate communication regarding the logistics of organ offers and manage related operational tasks.
  • Participate in procurement efforts for research and the resuscitation of marginal organs.

Contract Details: This position is a 12-month contracted role with potential for career advancement.

Compensation: Salary Range: $78,800 - $175,000

Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • 3-5 years of experience in cardiac surgery as a primary or assisting surgeon.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and foster collaboration.
  • Proven capacity to build and maintain productive relationships with transplant program personnel, organ procurement organizations, and host medical facilities.
  • Strong independent work ethic with minimal supervision required.
  • Ability to recognize personal limitations and seek assistance when necessary.
  • Capability to integrate feedback from senior surgical staff constructively.
  • Proficiency in multitasking and managing competing priorities.
  • Ability to maintain composure and productivity in high-pressure environments.
  • Adaptability to fluctuating workloads and changing circumstances.
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology, cardiac surgery, cardiopulmonary physiology, and operating room safety protocols.
  • Analytical skills to assess data, identify problems, and develop logical solutions.
