Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute procurement strategies that align with project schedules, financial plans, and corporate objectives.
- Assess and select potential suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers with expertise in the construction and industrial fields.
- Evaluate market trends and conditions to proactively manage supply chain challenges.
- Build and sustain robust relationships with key suppliers and vendors to guarantee a consistent and high-quality supply of materials and services.
- Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance and negotiate contracts to secure advantageous terms, including pricing, delivery timelines, and payment conditions.
- Address any disputes or issues with suppliers promptly and effectively.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
- Oversee contract renewals, modifications, and terminations in accordance with project requirements and company guidelines.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation and tracking of all procurement activities to maintain transparency and accountability.
- Monitor and manage procurement expenditures to remain within budget while fulfilling project demands.
- Collaborate closely with finance and project management teams to forecast procurement costs and mitigate financial risks.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or project timelines.
- Recognize potential risks within the supply chain and devise strategies to minimize disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all procurement activities.
- Conduct risk assessments for critical suppliers and materials, particularly those affecting project delivery.
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement specialists, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge for effective performance.
- Encourage a collaborative and results-driven work environment within the procurement team.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, including expenditure analysis, supplier performance, and market conditions.
- Offer insights and recommendations to senior management based on procurement data and trends.
- Utilize procurement software and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy in purchasing processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline. A master's degree is advantageous.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity within the construction or industrial sector.
- Demonstrated experience in large-scale construction or industrial projects, with a solid understanding of the specific procurement requirements of these industries.
