Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute procurement strategies that align with project schedules, financial plans, and corporate objectives.
  • Assess and select potential suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers with expertise in the construction and industrial fields.
  • Evaluate market trends and conditions to proactively manage supply chain challenges.
  • Build and sustain robust relationships with key suppliers and vendors to guarantee a consistent and high-quality supply of materials and services.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance and negotiate contracts to secure advantageous terms, including pricing, delivery timelines, and payment conditions.
  • Address any disputes or issues with suppliers promptly and effectively.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee contract renewals, modifications, and terminations in accordance with project requirements and company guidelines.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation and tracking of all procurement activities to maintain transparency and accountability.
  • Monitor and manage procurement expenditures to remain within budget while fulfilling project demands.
  • Collaborate closely with finance and project management teams to forecast procurement costs and mitigate financial risks.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or project timelines.
  • Recognize potential risks within the supply chain and devise strategies to minimize disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all procurement activities.
  • Conduct risk assessments for critical suppliers and materials, particularly those affecting project delivery.
  • Lead and mentor a team of procurement specialists, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge for effective performance.
  • Encourage a collaborative and results-driven work environment within the procurement team.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, including expenditure analysis, supplier performance, and market conditions.
  • Offer insights and recommendations to senior management based on procurement data and trends.
  • Utilize procurement software and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy in purchasing processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline. A master's degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity within the construction or industrial sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in large-scale construction or industrial projects, with a solid understanding of the specific procurement requirements of these industries.
