Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage the bi-weekly payroll process for our esteemed client in the financial services sector. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute the bi-weekly payroll cycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee compensation.
  • Maintain comprehensive payroll data, including income, deduction codes, and general ledger coding, to ensure data integrity.
  • Utilize payroll software to process payroll transactions, enter timecards, and generate paychecks.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for system testing and upgrades, and electronically transmit federal and state tax filings.
  • Produce internal payroll reports and reconcile payroll data with the general ledger.
  • Prepare essential payroll-related documents, such as quarterly 941s, W-2 processing, and payroll account reconciliations.
  • Analyze payroll data to identify trends and potential issues, providing insights to management.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources Information System team to support system development and enhancements.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-year associate degree in business or a related field.
  • Proven experience of at least 4 years in computerized payroll processing, with a thorough understanding of federal and state regulations.
  • Proficiency in general accounting principles and software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
