Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor - Operations Manager will assist the Plant Manager in the management of production operations to achieve optimum utilization at the lowest operating cost. This position is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by enforcing the company's safety policies and procedures, MSHA, OSHA, and other regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the activities of hourly production and maintenance employees.
  • Participate in the recruitment process, including screening and hiring hourly production and maintenance employees.
  • Schedule production requirements to support daily, weekly, and monthly sales forecasts to meet customer needs.
  • Provide coaching and disciplinary counseling to employees under their area of responsibility.
  • Ensure that employees receive proper training and instructions to perform job duties.
  • Schedule and assign employee work based on production needs.
  • Administer and enforce Company and Area policies and procedures.
  • Work with the SHE department and Company officials to promote a safe work environment that meets all State and Federal rules and regulations.
  • Work closely with salespeople and customers to ensure that Area products meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Implement cost-saving programs and/or continuous improvement activities to reduce costs and improve operating efficiency.
  • Participate in Operations short and long-range business planning.
  • Attend daily production meetings on the daily running and operations of the plant.
  • Participate in plant inspections on a regular basis.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; BS/BA degree, Associates degree, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in processing and maintenance; one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Construction materials industry experience preferred.
Working Conditions

The Maintenance Supervisor - Operations Manager will work in a stressful, deadline-oriented environment that requires complex, technical information and decision-making. Must be able to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
