Overview:

Become a vital part of early hearing loss detection as an Infant Hearing Assessment Specialist.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting hearing assessments for newborns in a hospital environment. Your work will involve screening infants for potential medical conditions that may arise during or after the newborn stage. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to ensure your success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

On a daily basis, you will perform hearing assessments for newborns, typically in the maternity ward, while educating parents on the significance of these screenings through provided video and printed materials. You will also manage patient data entry and validate hearing assessment results as necessary. Additional tasks may include confirming or rescheduling outpatient appointments, addressing equipment concerns, and training new team members.

  • Conducting newborn hearing assessments
  • Confirming insurance details with parents or guardians
  • Accurately documenting assessment results
  • Adhering to billing submission protocols
  • Ensuring security and identification protocols for infants
  • Following infection control and safety guidelines as per hospital and company policies
  • Identifying potential issues and seeking assistance promptly
  • Completing required company and hospital orientation, including patient privacy training
  • Meeting employee health requirements
  • Performing other assigned duties
Qualifications:
  • Preferred experience working with infants
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in computer use and accurate data entry
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to work weekends and national holidays
  • Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift
  • Capacity to push/pull up to 100 pounds regularly

Minimum Education Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Preferred Experience: One to three months of related experience.

Industry Experience: Healthcare.
