Key Responsibilities:
As a Pulmonary Care Specialist, you will:
- Administer and supervise various forms of respiratory therapy, including chest physiotherapy and cardiopulmonary diagnostics.
- Exhibit the expertise necessary to evaluate and treat patients across all age ranges, from infants to seniors, tailoring care plans to meet developmental needs and involving family members in the process.
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory treatments, including the administration of medical gases, medication delivery through airways, and advanced breathing therapies, while ensuring a thorough understanding of the equipment and potential risks involved.
- Provide critical respiratory care utilizing specialized techniques and equipment, including airway management during emergencies.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- Licensure: A valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Illinois.
- Certifications: Current CPR/BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certifications to be obtained within six months of employment.
- Experience: Open to training new graduates; preference for candidates with experience in critical care or emergency settings.
- Education: Graduation from a two-year AMA accredited respiratory therapy program, qualifying for the National Board for Respiratory Care examinations.
Work Schedule:
This position offers a full-time night shift, requiring 40 hours per week, with a rotating weekend and holiday schedule.
Compensation:
Competitive pay ranging from $34 to $48 per hour, commensurate with experience, along with a $15,000 sign-on bonus.
