Automobile Education Specialist

Position Type: Part-Time

Shift Schedule: Lessons are conducted during afternoons and evenings on weekdays, and mornings to evenings on weekends.

Compensation: $20/hour

Role Overview:
  • Utilizing a company vehicle, you will instruct and guide students in mastering the essential skills of vehicle operation.
  • We will support you in achieving the necessary state certification for driving instructors through our comprehensive paid training program, which includes all required coursework.
  • All instructional sessions are conducted in a Coastline vehicle, equipped with a dashboard camera to ensure safety for both instructor and student.
  • Most driving lesson requests occur during afternoons and weekends, aligning with the school schedules of our students. A typical day may involve conducting three lessons, each lasting two hours.
Training Details:
  • The training program encompasses 60 hours of education, comprising 40 hours of home study and 20 hours of practical, behind-the-wheel instruction.
  • In-person training will take place in your local area using a Coastline vehicle.
  • You will observe three in-car lessons and participate in three sessions of four hours each with a Certified Trainer.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering practical instruction on all facets of driving.
  • Educating students on traffic regulations and road safety.
  • Fostering confidence in students' driving abilities.
  • Teaching students how to manage vehicle control in emergency situations.
  • Tracking and reporting on student progress.
  • Maintaining effective communication with supervisors and support staff.
  • Exhibiting professionalism with students and colleagues.
  • Participating in team meetings for ongoing updates and professional development.
Qualifications:
  • A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and helping others learn.
  • Ability to maintain composure in a learning environment.
  • A valid state driver's license in the state of employment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Capability to pass background checks, drug screenings, and reference verifications.
  • A minimum of 10 years of legal driving experience.
  • A strong commitment to safety and sound judgment.
  • Effective communication and coaching skills.
  • Ability to concentrate for extended periods.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
  • Capability to see and hear in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and perform other physical tasks.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
