Position Overview

This role focuses on the strategic procurement of goods and services essential for the production and distribution of Doosan Bobcat offerings. The commodities involved will encompass indirect sourcing elements such as operational services (Human Resources, Marketing, IT Solutions, etc.).

The Category Management Leader will oversee a designated category of products or services within the company. Their primary responsibility includes formulating and executing category strategies aimed at enhancing business performance and reducing costs.

The individual will manage assigned accounts and collaborate with suppliers to ensure the delivery of quality products at competitive prices and within the required timelines to meet organizational needs.



Key Responsibilities

Supplier Management:

  • Develop strategic relationships with assigned suppliers.
  • Stay informed about market trends and changes within supplier organizations that may impact partnerships.
  • Experience in managing a specific commodity is essential.

New Product Development Support:

  • Assist the organization in all new product development initiatives and value analysis/value engineering projects.
  • Ensure that effective product launch strategies are established during the New Product Development stages, including aftermarket considerations.

Strategic Planning:

  • Create and implement Commodity strategies.
  • Ensure alignment and execution of these strategies across the organization.

Project Collaboration:

  • Facilitate project completion while providing mentorship.
  • Support cross-functional teams in project initiatives.

Essential Skills & Knowledge:

  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and proactively seek solutions while aligning with management.
  • Capable of developing business cases by synthesizing forecast data into actionable strategies.
  • Strong understanding of the assigned Commodity.
  • Build a reputation for delivering results and establishing credibility.
  • Maintain professionalism and composure when addressing challenges.
  • Encourage strong collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

Communication Skills:

  • Effectively communicate with all levels within the organization and escalate issues to sourcing leadership as necessary.
  • Provide updates on business progress and supplier performance to management.



Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience: Approximately 2+ years in a relevant role.
  • A degree in Supply Chain may substitute for experience.
  • Travel: 20-40% travel required, including occasional international travel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, from operational staff to executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment in decision-making processes.
  • Leadership skills to influence and guide others in implementing action plans.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
