*Key Responsibilities*

Buyer

  • Develop and execute supply strategies to enhance cost efficiency, quality, and delivery for New Product Development (NPD) initiatives.
  • Manage and revise cost estimates and quotations.
  • Support financial teams with project cost consolidations and various cost categories.
  • Oversee requests for quotes (RFQ) to assist stakeholders and NPD projects.
  • Ensure proactive supplier engagement throughout the NPD lifecycle.
  • Establish robust, value-driven relationships with suppliers and internal partners.
  • Provide supply forecasts and schedules as necessary.
  • Assist in inventory management to reduce excess stock and obsolescence.
  • Comprehend and communicate the terms of nondisclosure and warranty agreements.
  • Collaborate with sourcing, planning, and other stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Lead sourcing efforts for projects as needed.
  • Inform sourcing management of any significant supplier challenges that may impact component supply.
  • Help maintain data accuracy across all relevant systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Material Planner

  • Oversee the Material Planning function by managing inventory levels to meet forecasted turnover rates and scheduling needs.
  • Establish and maintain integrated processes across Operations, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Sales, and external suppliers to implement effective planning and replenishment strategies.
  • Schedule and execute part change notifications while minimizing obsolescence.
  • Manage overdue orders effectively.
  • Reduce expedited shipping times and freight costs related to inventory challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with management and key decision-makers across all functional areas to ensure a steady supply of materials.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely material delivery.
  • Engage with individuals at all levels within supplier organizations, from entry-level staff to senior executives.
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable on any invoicing discrepancies as necessary.

*Qualifications*

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • 0 - 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to evaluate the economic implications of supplier tooling costs, lead times, and unit pricing.
  • Proficient in PC applications, including Excel, Oracle, PowerPoint, and SAP.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Background in mechanical or inventory control preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding instructions in English.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
