Position Overview:
The Certified Inpatient Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in assisting pharmacists by reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications. This position operates within a pharmaceutical warehouse environment under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities:
• Process medication and supply orders for distribution to healthcare facilities.
• Commit to working at least one full weekend (Saturday & Sunday) each month.

• Manage shipments to clients using various couriers while ensuring compliance with temperature regulations (e.g., cold chain, room temperature).

• Document pharmaceutical distribution activities for medications and equipment, ensuring quality control and accuracy through both automated and manual systems.
• Address and prioritize customer inquiries regarding pharmacy distribution or compounding services.
• Utilize automated dispensing technology and relevant software to fulfill customer orders.
• Receive, restock, and rotate inventory, while managing expiration dates effectively.
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at process improvement.
• Participate in regulatory compliance inspections and maintain documentation for medication storage areas.

Additional Information:

Educational Background:
  • No specific education required if other qualifications are met; completion of an academic pharmacy technician training program is preferred.

Licensure/Certification:
  • Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy is required unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
  • CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA is required unless enrolled in a PharmD program.

Experience Requirements:
Prior experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
Experience in inventory management is also preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to stand for extended periods (most of an 8-hour shift).
• Capability to lift at least 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Ability to reach overhead to access shelved products.
