Overview

The Pipeline Operations Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the secure and efficient functioning of the Golden Pass Pipeline. This role is crucial in driving operational excellence by ensuring that scheduled gas transportation volumes are met, developing contingency strategies, and fostering collaboration across various teams within the organization. The Superintendent will also ensure adherence to regulatory compliance and oversee the annual operations budget planning process.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure all leadership expectations are met within the Operations and Maintenance Teams.
  2. Establish standards and set priorities for the Operations and Maintenance Team.
  3. Encourage employee development by offering opportunities for leadership in projects and new program implementation.
  4. Provide mentorship and administrative oversight to direct reports.
  5. Lead daily cross-functional team meetings to outline expectations and prioritize tasks.
  6. Coordinate with project teams on operational readiness and support commissioning activities.
  7. Manage operational risks effectively within the Work Management System.
  8. Develop and implement emergency response plans.
  9. Drive operational excellence in safety and process management systems.
  10. Ensure compliance with safety, security, health, and environmental standards.
  11. Act as Incident Commander when necessary within the Emergency Response Team.
  12. Manage budgetary constraints while identifying efficiencies and promoting continuous improvement.
Safety Leadership
  • Promote a culture of safety by demonstrating leadership and adherence to safety standards.
  • Engage actively in field operations to verify safety expectations.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to team members on safety practices.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings to reinforce safety culture.
Operational Performance
  • Set and communicate operational objectives to the team.
  • Lead daily operations meetings to establish priorities and address potential issues.
  • Implement performance metrics to drive efficiency and identify improvement areas.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Personnel Management
  • Oversee training plans and competency development for key positions.
  • Ensure staffing needs are met during various operational scenarios.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in pipeline operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily office-based with some outdoor responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform climbing and stooping tasks.
