The Director of Business Growth leads strategic growth initiatives for the company and reports directly to the CEO.

This pivotal role will provide expertise and perspective on identifying new business opportunities while serving as a utility services expert.

The Director oversees a team of business unit executives, consultants, department heads, and represents the company at high-profile events.

They are responsible for analyzing market trends, driving innovation, and making data-driven decisions to expand market presence and boost revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes comprehensive business development strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Identifies and pursues high-value business opportunities within the utility services industry.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with senior-level executives at key client organizations and strategic partners.
  • Establishes KPIs and measures business development performance against them.
  • Uses data to track and analyze results and report to the management team.
  • Oversees the business development team, providing mentorship and setting performance targets.
  • Collaborates with all portfolio company Presidents to ensure alignment of business development efforts with the overall company strategy.
  • Analyzes market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Represents the company at high-profile industry events and conferences.
  • Develops and manages the business development budget.
  • Maintains the data integrity of the company's CRM tool.
  • Provides regular reports and forecasts to senior leadership on business development activities and pipeline.
  • Drives innovation in business development practices and explores new revenue streams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business development or sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth and closing large deals.
  • Extensive network of industry contacts and relationships.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities.
  • Deep understanding of the utility services industry and market dynamics.
  • Experience with complex contract negotiations and partnership agreements.
  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
