Role Summary

The Pipeline Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of the Golden Pass Pipeline. This includes overseeing field operations and gas control activities, managing daily scheduling and planning, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role also involves supporting the Golden Pass Project Team in preparing for operational readiness, resource allocation, and program development. Additionally, the supervisor plays a key role in the annual operations budget planning process. This position is subject to DOT regulations (PHMSA).

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure all Golden Pass Leadership Expectations are adhered to before work commences.
  2. Develop and maintain a high-performing Pipeline Operations team; mentor and supervise team members.
  3. Lead daily Pipeline Operations meetings to facilitate smooth transitions between shifts and align with business priorities.
  4. Provide leadership and administrative support to direct reports.
  5. Coordinate personnel deployment and manage operational activities in the field during each shift, optimizing pipeline assets and logistics.
  6. Fulfill designated responsibilities within the Work Management System to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  7. Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
  8. Maintain a field presence to oversee contractor activities, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company standards.
  9. Supervise Turnaround and Start-up teams as necessary.
  10. Ensure all team members comply with security, health, and environmental requirements.
  11. Adhere to all operational protocols outlined in the Golden Pass Management Systems.
  12. Ensure compliance with corporate, local, and legal regulations.
  13. Manage Temporary Defeats and seek necessary approvals prior to expiration.
  14. Support the Pipeline Operations Superintendent in managing team functions within budget and identifying operational efficiencies.
Safety and Operational Excellence
  • Demonstrate leadership in safety by promoting systems and behaviors aimed at achieving zero life-altering injuries.
  • Actively engage in safety initiatives and coach team members on safe practices.
  • Conduct regular audits of shift handovers to ensure compliance and support the identification of operational issues.
  • Communicate the objectives and goals of the Golden Pass Pipeline to the operations teams.
  • Review performance metrics with the Pipeline Operations Superintendent to identify areas for improvement.
Team Development
  • Implement an Employee Resource Plan to meet the competencies required for business needs.
  • Develop staffing and training plans to address competency gaps.
  • Facilitate succession planning and ensure adequate training for team members.
Collaboration with Business Units
  • Lead the execution of daily and long-term plans for the Pipeline Business Unit, adapting as necessary to address field issues.
Personnel Management
  • Verify that Operations Technicians and Gas Controllers possess the necessary competencies.
  • Oversee training and competency management for team members.
  • Ensure effective execution of shift handovers in accordance with the Golden Pass Management System.
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Basic understanding of budgeting and contracts.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including DCS (Distributed Control System).
Certifications Required
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Completion of fire training.
Work Environment

Primarily office-based with some outdoor responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

Includes climbing and stooping.
