Role Summary

The Pipeline Operations Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the secure and efficient management of the Golden Pass Pipeline. This role emphasizes the importance of Operational Excellence in achieving our scheduled gas transportation targets, developing effective contingency strategies, and fostering collaboration across the Golden Pass organization. Additionally, the Superintendent will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and oversee the annual Operations budget planning process. This position is subject to DOT regulations (PHMSA).

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure that all operational expectations set by Golden Pass Leadership are met within the Pipeline Operations and Maintenance Teams.
  2. Establish standards and priorities for the Operations and Maintenance Team.
  3. Encourage employee growth by providing leadership opportunities and promoting new initiatives.
  4. Mentor and supervise team members, offering guidance and administrative support.
  5. Lead daily cross-functional team meetings to set expectations and prioritize tasks.
  6. Act as the primary liaison with the Project Team on Operational Readiness and support the transition of newly constructed assets.
  7. Manage operational risks effectively within the Work Management System (WMS).
  8. Develop and implement emergency response plans.
  9. Drive Operational Excellence within WMS, PSMS, and Process Safety Management.
  10. Ensure compliance with safety, security, health, and environmental standards among all team members.
  11. Verify that the Pipeline Operations function adheres to corporate and regulatory requirements.
  12. Participate in the Emergency Response Team and assume the role of Incident Commander when necessary.
  13. Manage the team within budget constraints while seeking efficiencies and continuous improvement.
Safety and Performance
  • Promote a culture of safety by adhering to established standards and driving performance towards zero incidents.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the field to reinforce safety protocols.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to team members regarding safety practices.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings to enhance awareness and engagement.
Operational Efficiency
  • Communicate business objectives and goals to the Operations and Maintenance Teams.
  • Lead daily operations meetings to prioritize tasks and address potential challenges.
  • Establish performance metrics to monitor and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Team Management
  • Oversee training plans and competency development for key positions.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and qualifications for operational needs.
Qualifications

Education
  • High school diploma required.
Experience
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in pipeline operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on team performance.
  • Knowledge of safety and operational management systems.
Skills
  • Strong people management and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and forward-thinking abilities.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting and contract management.
Certifications
  • Must maintain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Current and valid driver's license required.
Working Environment
  • Primarily office-based with some outdoor responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform tasks that may include climbing and stooping.
