The Administrative Support Intern will provide assistance to the Financial Services, Human Resources, and Facilities departments with essential functions outlined below.

Financial Services
  • Gain insights into the General Ledger.
  • Learn to prepare and analyze pivot tables with extensive data sets.
  • Assist in financial data analysis.
  • Support the college community with budget inquiries.
  • Understand the Capital Projects Accounting Process.
  • Verify invoices and prepare invoice reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing Capital draw documentation.
Human Resources
  • Explore payroll fundamentals and processing, including deductions and reporting.
  • Understand semi-monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reporting and calculations.
  • Learn about union agreements and their impact on payroll.
  • Familiarize yourself with federal and state payroll laws.
  • Observe various roles within a shared Human Resources and Payroll office.
  • Complete standard payroll processing tasks, including wage and benefit calculations.
  • Learn about records management in a payroll context.
Facilities

The intern will assist in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and the community by supporting the Facilities Department in managing the MegaMation Database.

  • Help inventory all buildings, keys, and vendor information.
  • Enter data on mechanical keys issued to employees and vendors.
  • Drive service vehicles as necessary.
  • Utilize computer applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrate comfort with learning new technologies and software.
