Job Summary:

The Program Support Specialist will provide expert guidance to veteran students on utilizing their GI Bill benefits, ensuring accurate and timely processing of enrollment information. This role requires strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze veteran benefit enrollment information to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide expert guidance to veteran students on utilizing their GI Bill benefits, including Post-911 benefits and other eligible education benefits.
  • Respond to inquiries from veteran students and eligible dependents via phone, email, and virtual NOVAQ.
  • Manage the veteran military services inbox with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support the Director of Military and Veterans Services and the School Certifying Office in their duties.
Requirements:
  • Experience working in a case management setting or social work setting.
  • Experience in program planning and customer service.
  • Knowledge of processing benefits and ability to interpret and explain academic, administrative, and veteran policies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse student population.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with military and veterans benefits in higher education.
  • Strong network of relationships with the community and Department Social Services service provider.
