Position Overview:
As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer of OptumServe Technology and Consulting Solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to architect intricate health IT solutions leveraging the exceptional resources of the OptumServe business and the broader UnitedHealth Group enterprise to fulfill the needs of our federal partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Solution Development: Utilize your profound understanding of federal health IT requirements to align OptumServe's capabilities with the expectations of our partners. Success in this role necessitates:
    • In-depth knowledge of the VA's Technical Reference Manual.
    • Ability to integrate a wide array of commercial solutions from the UnitedHealth Group portfolio to address federal objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams to translate client requirements into actionable operational processes and performance metrics.
    • Interpret strategic vision and convert it into detailed engineering requirements, validating them through pilot programs.
    • Proactively identify audience needs and share relevant insights effectively.
  • Market Insight and Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to anticipate future solution demands based on market trends and customer insights.
    • Analyze competitive landscapes and articulate how OptumServe's offerings stand out.
    • Leverage market intelligence to shape compelling narratives that resonate with clients.
  • Performance Evaluation: Assess solution outcomes against established benchmarks and advocate for enhancements to optimize future offerings.
    • Analyze key performance indicators and recommend strategic actions to improve competitive positioning.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical or Engineering field.
  • 10+ years of experience in federal health IT, either in a contractor role or as a federal employee.
  • 5+ years of experience in solution architecture or technical development, ideally within the VA IT domain.
  • Proven experience in complex strategy formulation.
  • Experience leading diverse initiatives in dynamic environments.
  • Direct familiarity with the VA's IT ecosystem and various operational technology platforms.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the latest VA Technical Reference Manual.
  • Knowledge of the Department of Defense, Veterans Administration, and Health and Human Services sectors.
  • Track record of successfully delivering federal health IT solutions with significant contract values.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions to define deliverables.
  • Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree.
