Technical Solutions Architect

working on complex administrative, defense, and intelligence initiatives across the Government, you will contribute to ensuring mission success. Your expertise will be vital in our Federal Civilian (FedCiv) CTO organization, driving the technical solutions essential for securing our most challenging and strategic projects.Key Responsibilities:
Support GDIT's FedCiv business sectors by crafting solutions that deliver essential capabilities, with a focus on both legacy and advanced data networks.
Align GDIT's offerings or pinpoint industry-leading solutions to satisfy our U.S. Government clients' operational and technical needs; evaluate alternatives and formulate winning strategies.

Analyze Request for Information/Quote/Proposal (RFI/RFQ/RFP) requirements and devise responsive solutions, including scoping staff needs and estimating potential operational costs; review team-generated solutions for relevance and thoroughness; present solutions to internal stakeholders and clients.

Develop and articulate use-cases while collaborating closely with opportunity capture and proposal development teams.

Investigate current and emerging technologies and delivery methodologies, tailoring findings to meet client needs; recommend modifications as necessary.

Evaluate existing systems and business processes, collaborating with business area personnel to suggest enhancements.

Ensure that technical architecture teams provide efficient and effective system solutions that align with proposal responses and meet business objectives.

Formulate logical and physical architectures and designs.

The ideal candidate will be tasked with authoring proposal materials, including writing proposal sections and creating supporting diagrams; reviewing all outputs with peers and providing constructive critiques of team members' work for completeness and relevance.

Employ industry-standard IT delivery frameworks, methodologies, and practices to fulfill client requirements.
Identify client needs, assess alternatives, and make product recommendations regarding software, platforms, and other IT system configurations.

Throughout the lifecycle of opportunity pursuits or project delivery, keep stakeholders informed on project costs, timelines, and quality in relation to stakeholder objectives.

Make staffing decisions for assigned opportunity pursuits or projects.

Coordinate with other solution architects who develop solutions and manage small to medium-sized teams to respond to client requirements.

Provide expert guidance and mentorship to less-experienced colleagues.

May serve as a task or project leader on programs for varying durations (not a people manager).


Technical Liaison to Pursuit/Capture Leadership:
Lead the technical solution strategy throughout the capture and proposal lifecycle, from initial qualification to proposal submission.
Contribute to GDIT's win strategies and spearhead the development of technical solution themes while maintaining solution readiness plans.

Client Engagement - Directly engage with current and prospective clients to understand critical needs, discuss and validate solutions, and advise on strategies to shape acquisitions that yield desired outcomes.

Identify and select optimal technical solutions and methodologies to meet anticipated or actual acquisition requirements.

Lead solution design and the creation of key artifacts, including but not limited to architectural models, process diagrams, concepts of operation, staffing plans, etc.

Develop unsolicited technical recommendations, collateral, and RFI/Q/P responses to engage prospective clients and position GDIT for success.

Collaborate with GDIT's technical service areas and business lines to identify and present the best technical and business strategies and solutions to distinguish GDIT.

Contribute to teaming strategies, including identifying and vetting potential partners.
Formulate cost strategies, LOEs/BOEs/BOMs, and associated justifications.

Technical Approach Proposal Leadership:
Ensure the solution and proposal support team is prepared to deliver a compelling and compliant response to government solicitations.
Lead the development of technical volumes and oral presentations for proposals.
Mentor and advise junior solution architects and proposal support personnel.
Ensure the integration of technical solutions with all sections and volumes of the proposal.
Review proposals and provide critical feedback to enhance our solutions and proposals.
Author introductions for technical volumes, key sections, and oral presentation slides, including the ability to create compelling graphics.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience.
In lieu of a degree, 15+ years of experience is required.

Ability to produce exceptionally written, compliant, and persuasive proposal narratives that effectively present GDIT's solutions and approaches within government requirements and evaluation criteria.

Ability to conceptualize and communicate or develop rich graphic visuals that strengthen the GDIT narrative and clearly convey concepts and methodologies.

Experience in technical leadership and project management.
Ability to excel in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Foundational Knowledge in the Following Technologies or Disciplines:
Comprehensive network engineering and architecture background with hands-on experience in primary network technologies: LAN/Switching/Address Management; WAN/Routing/Performance Optimization; Network Function Virtualization and/or Software-Defined Networking.
In-depth familiarity with leading networking solutions: Cisco DNA, JunOS, Dell, HPE.
Network security expertise at the endpoint, WAN, or data center level.
Architect-level proficiency in data center networking.
Working knowledge of Cloud networking (i.e., connectivity to Cloud-based resources, hybrid cloud architectures, elastic boundary management, etc.).
Working knowledge of network management and monitoring overlay technologies and tools.
Hands-on experience with network analysis, performance management, and reporting.
Unified Communications (UC) and/or VoIP, videoconferencing, and other UC functionalities.

Clearance:
Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government Secret or Top-Secret clearance.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
10 or more years of experience successfully architecting technical solutions and leading complex capture pursuits and proposals.
Familiarity or experience with developing solutions in response to U.S. Government Agencies' solicitations, including but not limited to:

Department of Transportation (e.g., FAA), NASA (including JPL), Department of Commerce (e.g., NOAA), Department of Energy (e.g., HQ, NNSA), or National Science Foundation.

Subject Matter expertise or familiarity with any combination of the following technical techniques or areas:
Advanced degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related fields.
Relevant Certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP/CCIE, CompTIA-Network+, etc.).
HPC networking experience.
Demonstrable expertise with cloud networking (connectivity to cloud resources, hybrid Cloud architecture, elastic boundary management, etc.).

Understanding of Hybrid Cloud Environments:

Cloud Platforms:
Understanding of major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Hybrid Infrastructure:
Understanding of how application solutions span on-premises data centers and cloud environments.

Cost Optimization:
Ability to design systems with cost-effectiveness in hybrid environments.
High availability hybrid-cloud architectures.

Demonstrated experience leading solution architecture for deals that booked $75M or greater in total contract value.
Ability to successfully lead solution development and technical proposal volumes for large-scale ($500m+), highly strategic, and complex opportunity pursuits.
Ability to motivate teams to perform exceptionally over extended periods (during capture) and in challenging situations (during proposal development).
Ability to effectively engage current and prospective clients to build trust and relationships; clearly communicate solutions and concepts and influence client actions.

Work Conditions:


Hybrid work location with flexibility between GDIT facilities and remote work options.

Remote work locations outside of the metropolitan area may be considered for exceptional candidates.

Salary and Benefit Information:
The likely salary range for this position is $176,446 - $235,750. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.

Salary will be determined based on experience, geographic location, and potentially contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
