JOB SUMMARY

Marriott operates numerous Salesforce environments, including one of the most extensive Salesforce deployments by user count with the Empower platform utilized by over 100,000 team members across various sectors. We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking individual to join our Salesforce Engineering division as a Salesforce expert. Our team is tasked with defining and developing innovative solutions that enhance Marriott's value and support our operations by utilizing current and advanced technologies in a meaningful way.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Required:

  • 6+ years of experience and comprehensive knowledge of Salesforce administration and development; including security, standard objects, reports/dashboards, Knowledge, data management, and sandbox environments
  • Minimum 3-5+ years of experience with web service consumption
  • 1-2+ years of experience with the Lightning framework (Aura, LWC)
  • Strong grasp of lightning flows and trigger frameworks
  • Expertise in programming languages and methodologies (e.g., Java and Apex)
  • Solid understanding of web technologies, such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, XML, JSON, and/or Ajax
  • Proficiency in integrating Salesforce with other applications using Connected Apps and APIs
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field OR equivalent experience and/or certification
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively

Preferred:

  • Salesforce developer/architect/admin certifications are advantageous
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Git, JIRA, Jenkins, and Dynatrace
  • Experience in developing hotel property applications
  • Experience in an Agile methodology environment
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Process Builder and Workflows
  • Understanding of Salesforce security measures
  • Leadership experience in a sourced environment

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Technical Leadership

  • Mentors and trains team members and peers as appropriate
  • Provides financial insights on departmental or project budgets, capital expenditures, or other cost/resource estimates as needed
  • Identifies opportunities to improve service delivery processes

Delivering Technology

  • Conducts complex quantitative and qualitative analyses for service delivery processes and projects
  • Facilitates the achievement of expected deliverables and obligations of service providers
  • Validates the completeness of requirements prior to service provider solutioning
  • Ensures all projects adhere to defined development and business case processes
  • Coordinates with appropriate IT and vendor relations teams
  • Provides consultation for routine and complex systems development
  • Collaborates with Operations and Infrastructure Delivery teams for deployment and production support activities

IT Governance

  • Adheres to all defined technology standards and processes (IT Governance, SM&G, Architecture, etc.)
  • Offers input for enhancements to the appropriate process owners as necessary
  • Maintains a proper balance between business and operational risk
  • Follows established project management standards and processes

Service Provider Management

  • Ensures that service providers develop and manage respective aspects of a project plan (e.g., schedules, deliverables, metrics)
  • Creates short-term plans for the team to effectively utilize resources
  • Monitors service provider outcomes
  • Reviews estimates of work effort for client projects provided by service providers for accuracy
  • Facilitates timely resolution of service delivery issues and minimizes client impact
