Position Overview:
Booz Allen Hamilton is in search of a seasoned Technical Lead to spearhead the development of cutting-edge Generative AI (GenAI) solutions tailored for the Department of Defense (DoD). Our Digital Battlespace team merges profound AI expertise with an understanding of mission-critical environments to create GenAI applications that enhance the DoD's vital operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Vision Ownership: Define and maintain the technical roadmap for product development initiatives across the Digital Battlespace portfolio, including solution architecture, delivery methodologies, and technology choices.
- Production System Delivery: Oversee the implementation of technical solutions in live operational settings through both leadership and hands-on development.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage directly with product partners and leadership to shape product strategies, ensuring alignment with mission objectives.
- Delivery Process Establishment: Develop and enforce robust software development practices that facilitate the successful launch of resilient customer-facing solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Set high standards for software implementation and ensure adherence through effective processes, feedback mechanisms, and mentorship.
- Performance Evaluation: Utilize metrics, KPIs, and OKRs to assess the effectiveness and impact of delivery processes, continuously iterating based on insights and outcomes.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and career development to technical staff, fostering a culture of learning and the adoption of best practices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in building scalable, production-level Machine Learning systems, encompassing requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- At least 5 years of experience in programming with Java, Scala, or Python, and deploying workloads using cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- 2+ years of experience with DevOps practices, containerization, and orchestration tools, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience in developing data processing pipelines using SQL, Spark, Kafka, or Flink.
- Familiarity with software development best practices and design patterns.
- Understanding of Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) and associated technical considerations.
- Ability to produce high-quality documentation.
- Capability to assess and balance technical trade-offs.
- Eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing engineering teams and developing technical talent.
- Familiarity with Generative AI technologies.
- Background in developing solutions for the DoD, particularly in ISR and electronic warfare, Special Operations, and Command and Control.
- Experience in introducing products to the federal market, specifically for the DoD or the Intelligence Community.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possession of a Secret clearance.
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Certifications in Solutions Architecture (e.g., AWS CSA, Azure Solutions Architect) or Cloud Machine Learning (e.g., AWS Machine Learning, Azure Data Scientist Associate).
Clearance Requirements:
Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
