Position Summary
The role involves effectively instructing students in designated courses while maintaining office hours for student engagement.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Strong commitment to providing quality customer service.

Physical Requirements
- May need to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications

- Associate degree; and three years of non-teaching work experience in Emergency Medical Technology, Nursing, or a related field; and certification/licensure as a paramedic OR five years of non-teaching work experience in Emergency Medical Technology, Nursing, or a related field and certification/licensure as a paramedic.

Official transcripts will be required at the time of the interview.

Preferred Skills/Additional Requirements:
- Current DSHS state credential/licensure as a Paramedic.
- A.A.S. Paramedic or BS in a related discipline.
- Minimum of three years of non-teaching EMS-related work experience.

- Three or more certifications as a DSHS EMS Instructor, NERMT, CPR, BTLS/PHTLS, PEPP/PALS, AMLS, or ACLS provider required; instructor status preferred.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide students with a comprehensive course syllabus.
- Engage in the evaluation of the instructional process and employ innovative strategies to enhance learning.

- Contribute to the development and support of the discipline by recommending educational materials, revising curricula, and suggesting teaching assignments when appropriate.

- Maintain accurate and complete course records.

- Participate in professional activities and assume responsibilities as agreed upon with the division dean, collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared objectives.

- Value the collaborative process.
- Utilize knowledge of diverse communities and learning styles to enhance instructional delivery.
- Participate in student advising and registration.
- Employ technology to facilitate learning, access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate effectively.
- Adhere to professional assignments in accordance with the System's calendar and contractual obligations.
- Comply with institutional policies, state and federal regulations, and the student code of conduct as applicable.
- Commit to the college's mission and goals by participating in planning division objectives and budget requests.
- Serve on and attend college committees as assigned.
- Participate in campus commencement exercises and other required college meetings and activities.
- Engage in personal performance appraisal.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Potentially collaborate with student clubs and organizations.

- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills to foster effective interaction between the college and various stakeholders, including organizations, businesses, community groups, faculty, staff, and students.

- Promote the college within the community by engaging in various marketing activities.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Complete required professional development training hours per academic year.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
