The University of North Texas System invites applications for Biology Adjunct Instructor Positions for Academic Year. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and to assist in further development of the UNT Dallas Department of Natural Sciences.
Job SummaryThe Adjunct Instructor of Biology will be responsible for teaching General Biology and upper-level Biology courses, as well as associated labs. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to teach science lecture courses for non-majors, such as Earth Science and Environmental Science.
Responsibilities- Plan and implement teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes.
- Undertake divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours.
- Provide instruction for General Biology and upper-level Biology courses and associated labs.
- Teach science lecture courses for non-majors, such as Earth Science and Environmental Science.
- A Master's degree in Biology with outstanding teaching experience in teaching lower-level Biology courses OR
- A Master's degree in Science Education with at least 18 graduate hours in Biology with outstanding teaching experience in teaching lower-level science courses.
- Ph.D. in Biology with significant experience in Higher Education.
- Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution.
- Excellent communication skills in multicultural settings.
- Experience teaching and developing online courses.
