Key Responsibilities

The role of the Chemical Process Engineer involves engaging in various design activities, including scope definition, feasibility assessments, conceptual studies, and both preliminary and detailed designs. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing flowsheets such as block diagrams, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs.
  • Conducting analyses and calculations, preparing reports and studies.
  • Supporting safety basis documentation and evaluations.
  • Performing equipment sizing and arrangement tasks.
  • Creating cost estimates and procurement documents.
  • Providing testing support.

All engineers are tasked with producing high-quality detailed design packages, offering engineering procurement and field technical support, and delivering expertise for troubleshooting and technical evaluations of plant systems. Design responsibilities encompass the preparation of conceptual engineering deliverables, including cost estimates, statements of work, design criteria, and title II engineering outputs, which include calculations, construction specifications, and equipment specifications. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of an integrated project team or as a technical lead for multi-disciplinary tasks, routinely collaborating with System Engineers and other stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Successful completion of drug screening.
  • Q Clearance is required.
Location and Work Arrangement

This position is based in a key operational area.

Compensation and Benefits

BGS provides a competitive total compensation package for eligible employees, which includes Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Paid Vacation, 401K, and Long and Short-Term Disability.

The starting salary for this position typically ranges between $96,000 - $165,000 annually, commensurate with experience and may vary based on geographical location.
