Senior Chemical Engineering Specialist

We are seeking a Process Engineer to engage in innovative nuclear-related initiatives. The ideal candidate will assume a pivotal engineering position, collaborating within a diverse team of engineers and designers to implement design and engineering solutions across various projects.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate equipment specifications and performance criteria to establish suitable designs.
- Prepare and supervise the development of process design outputs, which include:
- Process Flow Diagrams
- Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams
- Comprehensive piping drawings, including plans, elevations, and isometric views
- Calculations for orifice, relief valves, and equipment sizing
- Datasheets for equipment and instruments
- Heat Transfer Analyses for equipment
- Assessment of vendor submissions for the selection of instrumentation and equipment.
- Review and verify the work of fellow process engineers to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and adherence to established procedures.
- Coordinate design inputs and activities with other engineering disciplines in a collaborative environment.
- Demonstrate leadership capabilities by guiding a team of Process Engineers and Designers, serving as the Process Lead on projects.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program.
- A minimum of eight (8) to twelve (12) years of relevant experience and/or training is required.
- Experience with Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear projects is advantageous, though not mandatory.
- Familiarity with ASME B31 piping codes, including specifications, drawings, and calculations.
- Willingness and capability to obtain a Q clearance.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation is required, or the candidate is expected to achieve PE at the earliest opportunity.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for client projects associated with this position.
