Join Our Team as a Senior Control Systems Engineer

At Sargent & Lundy, we are dedicated to providing exceptional engineering design and consulting services to support the management and operational contractors for U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) sites and national laboratories.

As a Senior Control Systems Engineer, you will be an integral part of multi-disciplinary design teams focused on addressing environmental remediation associated with the legacy nuclear weapons production complex and safeguarding our nation's nuclear deterrent.

Your Role:
In this pivotal position, you will:

  • Engage in the design and development of advanced control systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
  • Prepare detailed design documentation and specifications for the acquisition and implementation of software, instrumentation, and control system technologies.
  • Collaborate with fellow engineers to enhance your expertise in Electrical and Computer Engineering through mentoring and structured training sessions.
  • Have opportunities for travel to client and vendor locations for design evaluations and site coordination.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required; dual citizenship with another country is not eligible.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in instrumentation and control engineering within a nuclear setting.
  • Strong foundation in software development and programming.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • A proactive and resourceful approach to problem-solving.
