In response to our expanding operations, we are in search of a Senior Accountant to fill a pivotal role that blends remote and on-site responsibilities at our headquarters. As an integral member of our finance team, you will spearhead initiatives aimed at uncovering valuable business insights and improving the quality of financial reporting for our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Accounting Management: Take charge of the inventory accounting process, ensuring accurate valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS) reporting by SKU and sales channel. Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile sub-ledgers with the general ledger, calculate landed costs, and manage inventory in transit.
  • Operational Expenditure Oversight: Act as the primary contact for operational expenses, managing accounting for significant spending categories such as digital marketing, warehousing, and professional services.
  • Bank and Credit Card Reconciliation: Lead the reconciliation process for bank and credit card transactions, implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and serving as the main point of contact for corporate credit card matters.
  • Data Flow Management: Identify and resolve any disruptions in data processes that impact order management.
  • Month-End Closing: Prepare journal entries and schedules for month-end closing related to the aforementioned responsibilities.
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Generate reports and schedules to support audit and tax requirements, while also seeking opportunities to streamline processes during periods of rapid growth.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is an inquisitive, innovative, and analytical professional who thrives in a dynamic, people-focused environment. You possess a strong background in revenue accounting and are comfortable working independently while also valuing collaboration and support.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; CPA designation is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to build cross-functional relationships.
  • Demonstrated capability to navigate a fast-paced, agile work environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must reside in the Austin area and be open to a hybrid work schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly Netsuite, and familiarity with Celigo.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce and/or physical goods industries.
