Job Details

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be a vital member of the finance team, responsible for financial reporting, variance analysis, month-end close, and account reconciliations. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and autonomous professional seeking progressive growth and eager to advance beyond the traditional senior accountant role. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical skills and a desire to contribute to the company's financial success.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reporting, providing insights to management on financial performance.
Assist in the preparation of external financial reports and disclosures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Variance Analysis:

Conduct detailed variance analysis on financial results, identifying key drivers and trends.
Provide actionable recommendations to management based on variance analysis and financial data.
Collaborate with department heads to understand business operations and their impact on financial performance.

Month-End Close:

Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all accounting tasks.
Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments as needed.
Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.

Account Reconciliations:

Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all accounts are properly reconciled and discrepancies are resolved.
Maintain and update account reconciliation schedules, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
Investigate and resolve any accounting discrepancies or irregularities.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance financial reporting efficiency.
Implement best practices and leverage technology to improve the accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
Collaborate with the finance team on special projects aimed at enhancing financial operations and controls.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in financial reporting and analysis.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks, with a proactive and self-motivated attitude.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a fast-paced environment or in the commercial real estate sector.
