About the Role

BCC Engineering, a leading engineering services firm, is seeking a skilled Roadway Drainage Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing drainage systems for roadways and other infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Analysis: Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, drainage tabulation analysis, and bridge scour analysis to create drainage plans for government agencies and private clients.
  • Problem-Solving: Approach tasks with an open mindset and propose innovative solutions to design problems.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare engineering reports and contract documents for review and approval.
  • Team Leadership: Assign, track, and review tasks of technicians or designers, and provide technical guidance as needed.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, internal design groups, and external entities, including clients, subconsultants, and government agencies.
  • Presentations: Effectively present proposed design solutions as part of internal project meetings and external presentations.
  • Marketing and Development: Adhere to company marketing requirements by providing timely personal resume updates and participating in marketing campaigns.
  • Mentorship: Contribute to the development of other team members through mentorship and modeling positive behaviors.
  • Stormwater Management: Analyze and implement post-construction stormwater best management practices (BMPs) for MS4 compliance.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on roadway drainage design and analysis.
  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Skills: Experience with GDOT drainage policies and procedures, and proficiency in engineering software and tools.
