Overview:

We are currently seeking Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to provide coaching and training on skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction strategies to family members, caregivers, and agency personnel, such as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). The RBT will empower families and providers by equipping them with skills in data collection, conducting specific assessments (e.g., stimulus preference assessments), and overseeing Behavior Support Plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver face-to-face or virtual coaching and training to DSP staff of participating IDD/BH providers.
  • Support agency staff in the development, execution, and evaluation of Behavior Support Plans (BSP), including coaching on data collection and fidelity checks.
  • Collaborate with DSPs and their supervisors to ensure all necessary materials and supplies for behavior plan implementation are available.
  • Present graphical summaries of BSP effectiveness to DSPs during meetings.
  • Model positive behavioral interventions and respond to emergency situations as trained.
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessment Interviews and/or Observations as assigned by BCBA or Director.
  • Engage in provider wraparound or consultation meetings by sharing assessment results and providing best practice recommendations.
  • Offer crisis de-escalation support to teams as needed.
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all supervisory requirements in accordance with BACB standards.
  • Collaborate with and regularly update the Director and other team members on individual and provider support activities.
  • Attend all agency, departmental, and client-specific meetings as directed.
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation to the supervisor or department head.
  • Comply with all organizational standards to ensure the health, safety, and confidentiality of all individuals.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a human or social services related field is required.
  • Registered Behavior Technician certification in the State of California.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with IDD and/or BH diagnoses.
  • Valid BLS CPR and Basic First Aid certification.
  • Crisis de-escalation verbal skills and physical management training certificate, such as Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI).
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
  • Computer literacy is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluency in one or more of the following languages: English/Spanish; English/Mandarin; English/Korean; English/Tagalog.
