Position Overview:

We are currently seeking skilled Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to provide coaching and training on skill acquisition and behavior modification strategies to family members, caregivers, and agency personnel, including Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).

The RBT will play a crucial role in empowering families and service providers by equipping them with the necessary skills for effective data collection, conducting various assessments (such as stimulus preference assessments), and overseeing the implementation of Behavior Support Plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver in-person or virtual coaching and training sessions for DSP staff of participating IDD/BH providers.
  • Assist agency personnel in the development, execution, and monitoring of Behavior Support Plans (BSP), including training on data collection and fidelity checks.
  • Collaborate with DSPs and their supervisors to ensure the availability of necessary materials and supplies for behavior plan implementation.
  • Present graphical summaries of BSP effectiveness to DSPs during meetings.
  • Model positive behavioral interventions and respond to emergencies as trained.
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessment Interviews and/or Observations as assigned by the BCBA or Director.
  • Participate in provider wraparound or consultation meetings, sharing assessment results and offering best practice recommendations.
  • Provide crisis de-escalation support to teams as needed.
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all supervisory requirements in accordance with BACB standards.
  • Regularly update the Director and team members on individual and provider support activities.
  • Attend all required agency, departmental, and client-specific meetings.
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Comply with all organizational standards to ensure the health, safety, and confidentiality of all individuals served.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a human or social services-related field is required.
  • Registered Behavior Technician certification in the State of California.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with IDD and/or behavioral health diagnoses.
  • Valid BLS CPR and Basic First Aid certification.
  • Crisis de-escalation verbal skills and physical management training certification, such as Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI).
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
  • Proficiency in computer usage is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluency in one or more of the following languages: English/Spanish; English/Mandarin; English/Korean; English/Tagalog.
