City of Monroe – Manager of Business Systems and Processes (Energy Services): Engages in complex professional and administrative duties aimed at orchestrating the strategy, planning, and execution of business systems and processes; performs related responsibilities as necessary.

Work is conducted under the consistent oversight of the Energy Services General Manager of Engineering, with supervisory responsibilities over direct report personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Orchestrating the strategy, planning, and execution of business systems and processes essential for operational continuity.
  • Formulating project plans, specifications, and overseeing technology implementation and integration.
  • Preparing and revising documentation for business processes.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

Comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of computer science relevant to the development of plans and specifications; extensive knowledge of contemporary methods and techniques applicable to the creation and execution of business processes and technologies; proficient in database management to sustain energy services database systems; adept at conducting complex analytical tasks to provide recommendations on business process challenges.

Solid understanding of software and programming languages to address technology-related issues. Physical endurance to work under challenging weather conditions, potentially requiring extended hours. Strong communication skills to convey intricate ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing; capability to compute complex cost reports. Ability to foster and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues, contractors, and the public.

Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science or a related field, along with substantial experience in public works or utility engineering.

Special Requirements:

Possession of a valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina. A Master's degree with specialized industry training is preferred. Salary range from a minimum of $96,179 to a maximum of $160,430.
