Primary Objective of this Role
The primary focus of this role is to enhance manufacturing processes across various stages including melting, hot-working, finishing, laboratory machining, and inspections. This position is accountable for driving improvements in processes and standards that bolster safety, equipment efficiency, and product excellence.
Key Responsibilities (additional duties may be assigned)
- Enhance and maximize equipment utilization.
- Refine material application processes.
- Identify, implement, and oversee automation opportunities.
- Establish optimal practices for resource use in plant operations.
- Provide technical guidance for maintenance activities and hot-working furnace upkeep and construction.
- Assist in identifying, justifying, and executing capital needs.
- Develop enhancements to manufacturing processes and standards that improve workplace safety, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Plan, manage, and execute continuous improvement initiatives for products and processes. Utilize statistical data analysis and thermal/deformation modeling tools as necessary to support these initiatives.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional continuous improvement efforts, including risk assessments, problem-solving reports, cause/effect diagrams, process audits, and standard work documentation.
- Effectively communicate results to management, colleagues, and stakeholders through written reports and presentations.
Basic Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a metals-related industry.
