Position Responsibilities:
Job Summary:
This role is essential in achieving quality and patient safety objectives through initiatives in patient safety, risk management, and quality enhancement projects. Responsibilities include identifying and assessing quality and risk event management, as well as developing and maintaining quality and risk management metrics.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assist staff and management in establishing reliable, valid, and measurable quality and patient safety indicators.
- Contribute to the development of comprehensive clinical programs that meet regulatory standards.
- Promote a holistic treatment approach by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to effectively manage patient care and ensure quality outcomes.
- Work alongside department leaders to oversee ongoing daily operations.
- Research and recommend enhancements focused on improving patient outcomes.
- Leverage process-level risks to support proactive improvements following auditing strategies.

Collaborate with the Quality/Risk Manager to ensure that all information used in analysis and performance improvement processes adheres to privacy and confidentiality regulations.

Key Success Factors: A solid understanding of key quality and regulatory organizations, including the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, the National Association for Healthcare Quality, and the National Committee for Quality Assurance, is essential. The ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information acquired during the course of duties is crucial. Familiarity with the quality improvement initiatives assigned, including their purpose, key elements, indicators, reporting, problem resolution, and communication of results, is also required.
