Position: Quality Assurance Lead

Salary Range: $89,000 to $120,000

Travel Requirements: No travel required

Essential Qualifications:

  • Expertise in ISO 9001 standards
  • Minimum of 5 years in quality assurance
  • Prior experience in a leadership role
  • Six Sigma Certification (Green or Black Belt preferred)

The Quality Assurance Lead role is pivotal in ensuring the highest quality standards of products throughout the supply chain to the end customer. This position is responsible for fostering a robust quality culture and driving continuous improvement initiatives across various departments, including Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer Service. The individual will oversee the development, execution, and management of comprehensive quality assurance programs, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion a culture of quality excellence within the organization.
  • Facilitate the Material Review Board and conduct regular quality training sessions for team members.
  • Implement and maintain an ISO 9001-compliant quality management system.
  • Utilize tools such as PFMEAs and DOEs to identify critical process characteristics.
  • Enhance process capabilities in collaboration with equipment manufacturers and engineering teams.
  • Employ statistical process control (SPC) methods to maintain and improve process capabilities.
  • Develop inspection plans for processes that require additional control measures.
  • Integrate advanced technologies to prevent, correct, or highlight errors in processes.
  • Collaborate with plant operations to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Lead root cause analysis initiatives using problem-solving methodologies.
  • Assist in preparing key performance metrics and presentations for management review.
  • Ensure proper calibration of measurement and testing equipment.
  • Support timely resolution of supplier claims and customer quality issues.
  • Oversee Material Review Board meetings to address quality events and nonconformance.
  • Assist in the preparation of certifications and compliance documentation.
  • Mentor and develop the QA team, including Supervisors, Technicians, and Engineers.
  • Participate in company-wide quality management system initiatives.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships across the organization to support local site success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field with a minimum of 5 years of quality management experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient in process capabilities and control methodologies, including SPC, FMEA, and inspection planning.
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015 compliance and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis and problem-solving tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and knowledge expansion.
  • Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Manager or Six Sigma are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP Quality Management is beneficial.
