Global Technical Sales Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Sales Consultant to join our team at Yokogawa Electric Corporation. As a Technical Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for driving business growth and developing strategic relationships with our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the global technical focal point for customers, working closely with the Global Account Manager and various stakeholders to increase business and drive relationships from supplier to partner.
- Provide technical support and drive business with customers at corporate levels and with local business units.
- Take ownership of technical communications, engaging with YHQ global services organization and local/regional services organizations for service business coordination, growth, and site-related issues.
- Define and develop sales and growth strategies aligned with critical sales business objectives, key external and internal stakeholders.
- Find opportunities and build credibility with customers, utilizing product portfolio knowledge to deliver value propositions.
- Monitor external markets and internally for new trends, solutions, and technologies to stay ahead of competing suppliers/providers.
- Capture customer pains and challenges, translating them into technical solutions.
- Act as a liaison between customer corporate technology teams and YHQ on various technology topics.
- Work with customer corporate technology teams and/or local end-users on Proof of Concepts.
- Plan, implement, and execute test/demos of new technology with customer corporate technology teams for approval of deployment of new products/solutions.
- Investigate activities necessary to support customer-driven topics, such as cyber security, network architecture, etc.
- Bachelor's Degree
- 15+ years of experience in industrial controls and automation with Yokogawa and other systems
- 15+ years of engineering or technical support or project management experience
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Experience in delivering global projects, preferably in a leading role
- Experience in dealing with Tier 1 global energy or IOCs (International Oil Company)
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience on SCADA, DCS, SIS, and industry communication protocols with external certification(s)
- Knowledge of asset management, historians, and enterprise solutions
- Experience in implementing feature enhancements to a product line to improve product and marketability
- Experience in upselling or cross-selling to expand scope
- Experience in developing and redlining specification materials
- Formal training in planning, preparing, and delivering educational or training sessions and materials
- Experience in delivering hands-on product and application demonstrations
- Excellent soft skills - oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to relocate to Houston, TX area
- Ability to travel within the US and overseas
