JOB OVERVIEW

A prominent organization is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to assist with a significant initiative aimed at equipping students with necessary technology. This project is designed to ensure that educational institutions are prepared for the upcoming academic year. During the initial two weeks, the Technical Support Engineers will be assigned to various locations, tasked with preparing and distributing a substantial number of devices to students.

The responsibilities will include collaborating with other Technical Support Engineers and full-time staff to facilitate a seamless distribution process. Key activities will encompass:

  • Assisting in the check-in process for students
  • Physically distributing devices
  • Guiding students through the login and setup procedures
  • Troubleshooting device issues
  • Preparing devices for distribution
  • Managing the check-out process for students

Following the distribution phase, the project will transition to a preparation stage for educational facilities. The Technical Support Engineers will be organized into teams and assigned to different locations daily to assist in preparing for the school year. This preparation will involve:

  • Reimaging and refreshing computers
  • Decommissioning outdated equipment
  • Organizing technology resources
  • Setting up classrooms and technology areas

The ideal candidates should thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, possess strong communication skills, and be adaptable to changes in plans. This role offers a competitive hourly wage.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Proficiency in computer operations and the ability to troubleshoot basic IT issues (including software applications and device management).

Capability to follow instructions and perform effectively in a high-energy setting. A reliable means of transportation and a valid driver's license are required.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Possession of CompTIA A+ certification or a similar qualification is highly desirable.
