Key Responsibilities
As a Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intermediate Care Unit, you will:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop comprehensive care plans.
- Implement and evaluate care strategies, ensuring quality and effectiveness.
- Oversee and mentor non-licensed team members in delivering patient care.
- Document patient assessments and care outcomes accurately.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans and care procedures.
- Administer medications and manage IV therapies in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Review and execute physician orders, ensuring clear communication with all departments.
- Provide detailed patient information to ensure continuity of care during shift changes.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Experience in an acute care environment is essential.
- Preferred experience in adult intensive care or intermediate care settings.
Education:
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or a Compact RN license (Texas license required within 90 days of hire).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification is preferred.
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification is preferred.
