Key Responsibilities

As a Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intermediate Care Unit, you will:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Implement and evaluate care strategies, ensuring quality and effectiveness.
  • Oversee and mentor non-licensed team members in delivering patient care.
  • Document patient assessments and care outcomes accurately.
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans and care procedures.
  • Administer medications and manage IV therapies in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Review and execute physician orders, ensuring clear communication with all departments.
  • Provide detailed patient information to ensure continuity of care during shift changes.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Experience in an acute care environment is essential.
  • Preferred experience in adult intensive care or intermediate care settings.

Education:

  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or a Compact RN license (Texas license required within 90 days of hire).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification is preferred.
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification is preferred.
