The MetroWest Care Connection is looking for a dedicated and energetic individual to become part of our team as the Housing Advocacy Coordinator.

The Housing Advocacy Coordinator will be instrumental in broadening our Coalition's membership, engaging individuals with firsthand experience of housing challenges, and executing advocacy initiatives.

This role entails collaborating closely with community members, stakeholders, and Peer Housing Specialists (PHS) to assess community requirements, advocate for policy reforms, and enhance local resident capabilities.

Required Education:
High School Diploma/GED

Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruit and involve MetroWest residents with housing insecurity experiences for coalition participation.

2. Facilitate resident engagement in decision-making processes, respecting their insights and viewpoints.

3. Collaborate with residents and coalition members on advocacy initiatives.

4. Utilize residents' experiences to inform advocacy strategies.

5. Identify significant community access points for housing assistance.

6. Address housing issues across various neighborhoods and demographic groups.

7. Support the development and training of a network of Peer Housing Specialists (PHS) in the region.

8. Empower and educate diverse residents with experiences of housing insecurity.

9. Assist PHSs in delivering tailored community support and guidance.

10. Enhance PHS capabilities to aid residents in accessing support for housing challenges and health disparities.

11. Collaborate with the Project Coordinator and Director to fulfill objectives and report progress.

12. Co-facilitate coalition meetings alongside the Project Coordinator and Director.

Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in community organizing, social work, or a related discipline.

2. High School diploma or equivalent required.

3. Cultural and linguistic diversity is preferred.

4. Familiarity with and connections to the MetroWest community, particularly among diverse and historically marginalized populations.

5. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

6. Capacity to work collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals.

7. Proficiency in organizing and leading community meetings and events.

8. Knowledge of housing policies and resources is preferred.

9. Experience in advocacy and organizing.

10. Ability to read and write in English, and communicate effectively.

11. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and the ability to learn new systems.

12. Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
