Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Housing Stabilization Specialist to join our team at South Middlesex Opportu. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in providing case management services to clients transitioning from emergency shelter into short-term housing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized stabilization plans to support clients in achieving self-sufficiency.
  • Provide regular home visits and maintain weekly contact with clients to monitor progress and make adjustments to the service plan as needed.
  • Collaborate with other SMOC staff to coordinate housing and employment search and stability services.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, landlords, and community-based service providers to ensure seamless support and referrals.
  • Document all client interactions, progress, and outcomes in accordance with agency and state requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices in case management and housing stabilization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience in human services.
  • Minimum one year of experience in assessment, advocacy, and case management.
  • Sensitivity to low-income individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bi-lingual preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and meeting insurance standards.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with a 35-hour workweek. Some travel via employee's personal car is required. A successful background check is required.
