Desert Regional Medical Center is a prominent 385-bed acute-care facility recognized as a stroke receiving center and a level 2 trauma center, featuring a cutting-edge, patient-focused Rehabilitation Services Department. Our dedicated team offers a comprehensive array of inpatient and outpatient services, including acute care rehabilitation, joint replacement, spinal surgery, neurosurgery, ICU, telemetry, step-down care, skilled nursing, and outpatient therapy, including hand and lymphedema clinics.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Clinical Manager oversees the daily operations of the Telemetry Department. This role involves managing human resources effectively at the unit level. The Clinical Manager is responsible for promptly addressing and resolving complaints from patients, visitors, staff, and physicians, while advising management appropriately. This position requires the ability to adapt and provide direction during fluctuating workloads, particularly in crisis situations. The Clinical Manager plays a crucial role in helping staff navigate challenging administrative decisions and has access to all Patient Health Information strictly for treatment purposes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the telemetry staff in delivering care to telemetry, stroke, and bariatric patients, adhering to interventional cardiology protocols and medication guidelines.
  • Gather and interpret information to meet the specific needs of patients.
  • Exhibit knowledge of growth and development across various age groups.
  • Participate in human resource management, including assisting with evaluations, counseling, and recruitment of staff.
  • Ensure timely completion of payroll reports and performance evaluations for all staff members.
  • Facilitate comprehensive orientation for new employees and maintain accurate records of staff certifications and compliance.
  • Promote effective communication with staff regarding organizational and national healthcare issues.
  • Optimize staffing practices in alignment with established benchmarks and acuity data.
  • Utilize patient classification systems to predict nursing care requirements and maintain documentation for staffing trends.
  • Support hospital programs related to risk management, safety, and infection control.
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills and assist in the development and revision of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Director to achieve departmental goals and monitor supply costs to meet budgetary targets.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and maintain current knowledge in the specialty field.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Sign-On Bonus: $20,000

Required:

  • Active California RN License
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience
  • Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership abilities
  • Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certification
  • Successful completion of EKG test within the first month of employment
  • NIHSS Certification

Preferred: Previous management experience.

Compensation: $81.91 per hour, with individual wages determined by qualifications and experience.
