Position Overview

The Clinical Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing the daily activities within the Telemetry Unit. This role involves managing personnel effectively while ensuring operational efficiency. The manager is responsible for addressing and resolving any concerns raised by patients, visitors, staff, and medical professionals, while keeping upper management informed as necessary.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and guide the telemetry team in providing care for patients with telemetry needs, including those with stroke and bariatric conditions, while adhering to relevant protocols and medication guidelines.
  • Assess patient information to tailor care according to individual needs.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of patient growth and development across various age groups.
  • Engage in human resource management by assisting in the recruitment, evaluation, and training of staff.
  • Oversee payroll documentation and ensure timely performance evaluations for all team members.
  • Facilitate ongoing education and orientation for new hires, ensuring compliance with mandatory training.
  • Participate in nursing leadership meetings, contributing to the overall quality and integrity of nursing practices.
  • Manage departmental orientation for new staff, ensuring they are well-acquainted with unit protocols.
  • Maintain open lines of communication regarding organizational and healthcare issues with staff.
  • Optimize staffing practices based on established benchmarks and patient acuity data.
  • Utilize patient classification systems to predict nursing care requirements and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Support staff development initiatives and cross-training opportunities.
  • Adhere to hospital-wide programs, including risk management and infection control.
  • Coordinate unit workflow and foster teamwork among staff members.
  • Monitor compliance with labor hour benchmarks and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist in the development and execution of departmental goals and strategic plans.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement efforts and gather feedback for ongoing enhancements.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Qualifications:
  • Current California RN License.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • A minimum of three years of clinical experience is essential.
  • Proven leadership skills and clinical competence.
  • Current certifications in BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association.
  • Completion of EKG testing within the initial onboarding period is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in a management role within a clinical setting.

Skills and Certifications:
  • California RN License.
  • BSN or related field.
