Overview:

Desert Regional Medical Center is a comprehensive 385-bed acute-care facility recognized as a stroke receiving center and a level 2 trauma institution. Our dedicated team offers a diverse array of inpatient and outpatient services, including acute rehabilitation, joint replacement, spinal surgery, neurosurgery, ICU, telemetry, step-down care, skilled nursing, and outpatient therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

The Clinical Manager oversees the daily operations of the Telemetry Department, ensuring effective management of human resources at the unit level while maintaining cost efficiency. This role involves promptly addressing and resolving complaints from patients, visitors, staff, and physicians, and providing appropriate guidance to management.

Department-Specific Duties:

  • Lead the telemetry staff in delivering care to telemetry, stroke, and bariatric patients, adhering to interventional cardiology protocols and medication management.
  • Assess patient needs and interpret information accordingly.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of patient growth and development across various age groups.
  • Participate in human resource management, including staff evaluation, counseling, and recruitment.
  • Ensure timely completion of performance evaluations and human resource documentation.
  • Facilitate staff attendance at mandatory training and orientation sessions.
  • Engage in nursing leadership meetings, taking responsibility for the quality of nursing administration.
  • Support departmental goals through strategic planning and participation in special projects.
  • Maintain comprehensive records for all unit staff, including certifications and compliance with competencies.
  • Promote effective communication with staff regarding organizational and healthcare issues.
  • Optimize staffing practices based on established benchmarks and patient acuity data.
  • Utilize patient classification systems to predict nursing care requirements and maintain documentation for trend analysis.
  • Assist in staff development and cross-training initiatives.
  • Support hospital-wide programs related to risk management, safety, and infection control.
  • Manage scheduling and workflow within the unit.
  • Foster teamwork and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills and assist in policy review and updates.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental strategic plans and monitor supply costs to align with budgetary goals.
  • Stay current with knowledge and expertise in the specialty field and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Sign-On Bonus: $20,000

Required:

  • Active California RN License
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience
  • Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership abilities
  • Professional demeanor and effective communication skills
  • Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certifications
  • Successful completion of EKG test within the first month of employment
  • NIHSS Certification

Preferred: Previous management experience.

Compensation: $81.91 per hour, with individual wages determined by qualifications and experience.
